Magpie will be selling assorted craftiness at the Somerville Arts Council's ArtBeat festival all day Saturday July 19 in Davis Square. Look for our table outside (the store will also be open if you want to duck inside to beat the heat) and come say hi while you enjoy the festivities!

In other festive news, we have a fantastic new art show up by Dave Kiersh, cartoonist extraordinaire, called "Teenage Dilemma." We have long admired Dave's dense, loopy comix and are delighted to host his work. (And as winners of the Phoenix Readers Poll 2008 winner for Best Non-Gallery Artspace we hope to keep up the tradition with this awesome show!)

SPACE 242 proudly announces its seventh exhibition of 2008, "Secret Prize Inside," featuring illustrations, paintings, and mixed media by Magpie's Dave McMahon and Somerville's Chi-Yun Lau. The opening reception, Friday, July 25, runs from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Boston's South End, 242 E. Berkeley Street, 2nd floor (Between Albany Street and Harrison Avenue), Boston.
